One Minute Mug Cake

Craving cake but don’t want to bake a full batch? Say hello to this 1-minute chocolate mug cake — rich, fluffy, and perfectly satisfying for those instant dessert cravings. Made right in your mug, this recipe needs no oven, no fancy tools, and barely a minute of your time. The best part? You can customize it however you like — gooey, nutty, or topped with a scoop of ice cream!

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1½ tbsp cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp melted butter, oil, or a mix of both
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • 2–3 tbsp milk (just enough to make a smooth batter)
  • A few drops of vanilla extract (optional)
  • A pinch of salt (optional, skip if using salted butter)
  • Optional: A few walnuts or chocolate chips for topping

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe mug, mix all the dry ingredients — flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add the melted butter or oil, milk, and vanilla extract.
  3. Mix well until smooth, with no lumps.
  4. Top it with walnuts or a few chocolate chips for that extra crunch and gooeyness.
  5. Microwave for 70–90 seconds (depending on your microwave’s power). The cake should rise and look set on top.
  6. Let it cool for a minute before digging in — it’ll be hot and irresistibly soft!

💡 Optional Toppings

  • Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for instant indulgence.
  • Drizzle with Nutella or melted chocolate for extra richness.
  • Sprinkle a few choco chips before baking for a molten, gooey center.
